ReadWriteWeb: Were Turntable.fm and “Group Listening” Just a Summertime Fad?
New data suggests that Turntable.fm’s popularity was indeed short-lived. Rather than growing continuously over time, the site’s Web traffic, search volume and Alexa rank all spiked in July and then trailed downward from August onward, according an analysis from Digital Music News.
Now that I think about it, what did happen to Turntable.fm? The buzz around it certainly did peak during the summer, and nary a peep was heard from it afterward. Talk about an echo chamber.
